Danny and Rita Gillis of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Michele, to Danny Weatherford, son of Gary and Linda Weatherford of Meridian.
The wedding will be Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Meridian.
Miss Gillis is the granddaughter of Adeline Purvis of Philadelphia and the late Curtis Purvis, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gillis.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Meridian High School and received a bachelor's degree in social work from Mississippi State University-Meridian campus.
While attending MSU, she was a member of Phi Alpha National Honor Society. She is employed by Sta-Home Hospice.
Mr. Weatherford is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Weatherford of Meridian, Jewel Smith of Meridian and the late Raymond Smith.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of West Lauderdale High School and East Mississippi Community College. He is employed by the Mississippi Air National Guard.
A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
