Montgomery to be honorary chairman of Walk for Diabetes

Former U.S. Rep. G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery will be named the honorary walk chairman for Meridian's 2003 Walk for Diabetes.
The walk is set for Oct. 12 at Bonita Lakes.
The official announcement will be made during a news conference scheduled for Monday, said Dawn Chappell, community development coordinator for the East Central Chapter of the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi.
Montgomery is scheduled to attend the conference at 9 a.m. in the conference room of the Holiday Inn Express Hotel, 1399 Roebuck Drive and Highway 45 South.
Plans for the walk and corporate sponsorships will be announced at the news conference.
