Organizers of the upcoming Threefoot Art Festival say the event will be one more step forward in establishing Meridian as the art capital of Mississippi.
Stewart, Robert Bresnahan and Debbie Martin are working with Connie Royal, executive director of the Meridian Council for the Arts, to promote the festival.
The festival is set for Oct. 11 from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. at the Singing Brakeman Park next to Union Station on Front Street.
More than 30 artists from across the South will display artwork that will include glass, clay, photography, wood, jewelry and metal. In addition, local artists will demonstrate their crafts.
The day also will include live entertainment. Beginning at 3 p.m., people at the festival will enjoy The Caldwells, from West Point, and the Capital City Stage Band and the Bluz Boys, both from Jackson.
The festival is free to the public. For information, call 485-1944.
