Len McRae said the Queen City Fair is back bigger and better for its third year in Meridian.
McRae is coordinating the event, which opens at the Lauderdale County Agri-Center Monday for a seven-day run.
McRae said the fair has been successful for two years, and he feels the Agri-Center is the appropriate place for it.
In addition to an expanded midway and more rides, fair-goers can expect more live entertainment this year.
McRae said the popular Banana Derby, in which macaque monkeys ride miniature horses and ponies around a race track, is back this year.
New this year is the Little Miss Queen City Fair pageant on Tuesday, youth night concerts on Wednesday, a gospel concert on Thursday, an entertainment star search on Friday and a country music showdown on Saturday.
