The Key Brothers Scholarship recipient at Meridian Community College is Jenna Blair Rawson of Meridian. This $800 award is funded through The MCC Foundation through an endowment established in honor of Meridian aviators Al and Fred Key. The Key Brothers pioneered in-flight refueling and, with the exception of space travel, their flight endurance record of 1935 still stands.
A 2003 highest honor graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School, Rawson played slow-pitch softball, was president of the Honor Society and garnered a first place in the Biological Science Fair.
Rawson is taking general education courses at MCC this fall, with education or dental hygiene as a possible career choice. She sings in her church choir, works with Vacation Bible School and is a member of the MCC Eagle Cheerleading Squad.
