The Meridian Community College basketball program gave its fans an opportunity to get a first-hand look at the 2003-2004 men's and women's teams. The night was highlighted by several contests and prizes. MCC head women's coach Hilary Allen was very happy with the way the event turned out.
The night was filled with several contests that gave the fans a first hand look at the talents of the Eagles. Freshman Danielle Cooper won the three-point contest with five three-pointers, while Meridian native Jamaine Winfield won the slam dunk contest.
This event was also a chance for the MCC faithful to meet the cheerleaders and "Victor the Eagle" and the fans were also given a chance to get autographs from both men's and women's teams.
Meridian will open up its home schedule Wednesday with a pair of games against Coahoma at the Ivy Sports Center. The women will tip-off at 5 p.m. with the men to follow at 7 p.m.
