A Bailey woman died Tuesday as a result of injuries she received in a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of West Lauderdale School Road and Hamrick Road.
Tammy Colianni, 43, was taken to Rush Foundation Hospital after her car ran off the road and flipped over into a ditch about 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Maj. Ward Calhoun of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department said she was driving toward Collinsville on West Lauderdale School Road when she lost control of the car.
He said high school students who had just gotten out of school, as well as nearby residents, tried to get Colianni out of the car, but were unsuccessful.
