The Scott Central girls' basketball team improved its record to 8-2 with a 62-49 win over Tylertown on Monday.
Latasha Johnson tallied a game-high 17 points for Scott Central, and Elisha Clay added 16 in the win.

LIVINGSTON, Ala. True freshman Jared Hembree connected on 8-of-15 shots, including 7-of-12 from long range, en route to scoring a career-high 23 points, as West Alabama (2-9) upended Emmanuel College (4-9) by the score of 85-67 on Monday night.
Issac Greenwood turned in a big game for the Tigers scoring 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting to go along with a game-high 11 boards and four steals. Nic Gragg scored 14 points for UWA.
Joey Issac led Emmanuel with 21 points on 7-of-17 shooting. Shavoyae Brown added 13 points and eight boards, and teammate Reggie Ford contributed 10 points.

CLEVELAND Veronica Lee had a game-high 17 points, making 7-of-8 free throw attempts, in leading West Alabama to a 57-54 win over Southern Arkansas (6-2) on Monday in first-round action of the Delta Classic in Cleveland.
Tausha Evans contributed 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting to go along with five assists for the Tigers. Margo Porter added 10 points for UWA.

Emmy Joyner picked up a shut-out win in goal for the Lady Knights last Saturday against the Lady Trojans, as the West Lauderdale girls' soccer team improved its record to 8-1-3.
Kylie Rowell notched two goals in the opening half, and Brittany Uhl added two goals, with the first coming off a penalty kick to give the Lady Knights a 4-0 lead at the break.
Morgan Gullette assisted Rowell on her first goal of the half, and Sarah Birmingham tallies assists on Rowell's second goal and Uhl's second goal.
Auburn Carlberg and Vanessa Uhl scored goals in the second half for West Lauderdale, with assists coming from Brittany Uhl and Rachel Reeves.

Anthony Thomas recorded a hat trick for the Knights, as the team improved its record to 13-0-1 with a win over the Columbus Trojans last Saturday.
Christopher Rodgers netted two goals for West Lauderdale, and Michael Pogue knocked in the sixth score in the win.
Pogue, Zach Chisolm, Jarred Moulds and Matthew Thomas each tallied an assist for the Knights.
Roger Walker stopped five shots in net for West Lauderdale to record the victory.
