Chanda Shannon and Chad Thornhill, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, June 14, 2003, at Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Winkleman officiating.
Parents of the couple are Parker and Becky Shannon; Frances Thornhill and the late Toby Thornhill.
Grandparents of the bride are the late Adie Parker and Elma Shannon, Irma Shirley and the late Leo Shirley.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Lamar and Earline Taylor, the late Jewel Taylor and the late John and Velma Thornhill.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Linda Arledge, pianist and vocalist; Debbie Mathis and Mandy Galyean, vocalists; and Alice Oglesby, violinist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a two-piece satin gown beaded with rocals, crystals and pearls. The A-line skirt swept into a chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of white roses with her paternal grandmother's handkerchief inserted.
Lesli Shannon of Meridian, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor.
Other attendants were Donna Davis of Meridian, Lauren Scheel of Jackson, niece of the bridegroom, Carley Robertson of Germantown, Tenn., cousin of the bride.
Raymond McDonald of Quitman served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Wayne Rainer of Meridian, Todd Matthews of Wiggins, J.B. Freeman of Meridian, Daniel Johnson of Meridian and Brian Henson of Jackson.
Bubble attendants were Blake Dearing, Grace Goodman, Adie Goodman and Jordan Davis.
Program attendants were Brady Dearing and Mary Parker Robertson.
A reception was held at the home of Van and Barbara Goodman following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Nell Goodman, Ann Rolison, Beth Shannon, Kay Beech and Rhonda Beech, all cousins of the bride.
On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held at Five J Farms.
After a honeymoon in San Antonio, the couple resides in Meridian.
