Rebekah Joy Byers of Brandon and David Jerome Mayfield of Jackson were married Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Crossgates United Methodist Church in Brandon with the Rev. James Twiner officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Michael A. Byers of Brandon, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mayfield of Lauderdale.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Beard.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Lorraine Dean and the late Charlie Dean, Opal Mayfield and the late Cecil Mayfield.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Celia Henley, organist; and Kim Hanson, vocalist.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
Johnnie Sfakiano of Birmingham, Ala., served as maid of honor. Other attendants were Bailey Stumpff of Atlanta, Holly Gerrard, Sarah Featherston and Sheila Byers, all of Brandon, Morgan Bush and Mollie Hederman, both of Jackson, and Savannah Brantley of Ridgeland.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Daniel Mayfield and Brandon Mayfield, both of Lauderdale, Walter Lucas of Madison, Clay Roundtree of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Garrett Haddox of Kokomo and Preston Byers of Brandon.
John Clayton Davidson of Ridgeland and Spencer Beard of Decatur, Ala., served as ring bearers.
Rice bag attendants were Eliza Brantley, Mary Kate Beard and Catherine Beard. Program attendants were Nathan Beard and Josh Beard.
A reception was held at Crossgates United Methodist Church Spiritual Life Center following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon at Cancun Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico, the couple resides in Ridgeland.
