The Meridian Police Department is still seeking a suspect in the death of Oliver George Trotter, which is being investigated as a homicide.
Trotter, 57, died Sunday at a local hospital.
A preliminary autopsy report, completed this week, determined the cause of death as massive trauma to the face, according to Lauderdale County Coroner Clayton Cobler.
Detective Dean Harper of the Meridian Police Department said Trotter was assaulted in the parking lot of Arby's Roast Beef Restaurant on North Frontage Road on Feb. 16 by an unknown assailant described as a black male.
Harper is asking that anyone with information about the crime call the Meridian Police Department at 485-1893 or CrimeStoppers at 485-1860.
