Mr. and Mrs. D. Larry Abston of Gilbertown, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Janice Amanda, to Roger L. Williamson Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger L. Williamson Sr. of Gilbertown.
The wedding will be Saturday, March 20, 2004, at 5 p.m. at Gilbertown Baptist Church.
Miss Abston is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Thrash of Brandon; Velma G. Abston of Gilbertown and the late James D. Abston Sr.
The bride-elect is a graduate of South Choctaw Academy and the University of West Alabama. She received her master's degree in English from the University of Southern Mississippi. Miss Abston is in her first year at the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Ala.
While at UWA, she was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity, Blue Key Honor Fraternity and Sigma Tau Delta English Honorary.
Mr. Williamson is the grandson of Sarah Coody of Howardtown and the late Leonard D. Coody, and Louise Williamson of Gilbertown and the late James Williamson.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Patrician Academy and attended Alabama Southern Community College where he received his national registry certification as an emergency medical technician. He is currently enrolled in the advanced paramedic program at Southern Union State Community College in Opelika, Ala.
Mr. Williamson is employed by the Choctaw County Emergency Medical Services.
A reception will be at Southern Charm in Gilbertown following the ceremony.
