Northeast drops a pair to Madison Central

The Northeast Lauderdale Trojans have had a rough time in the last two days, and Saturday's doubleheader against Madison Central was nothing more than a great offensive day for the Jaguars.
Northeast (17-7) was outhit 37-2 as Madison Central swept the doubleheader 14-0, 24-1 over the Trojans. Northeast has lost its last three games heading into a key Division 5-4A game against West Jones on Tuesday night.
The Trojans will first take on Southeast Lauderdale in a non-division game Monday night at home. Northeast Lauderdale defeated West Jones 6-4 and Southeast 12-4 earlier this season.

The Jaguars pounded out 15 hits and scored seven runs with home runs in the opening game.
The Trojans had their only two hits of the day in game one thanks to a single apiece from Jeremy Barnecastle and Nathan Peden.
Madison Central (19-6) scored the first run of the game in the top of the first inning on an RBI double by Charles Bush to take a 1-0 lead. The Jaguars continued to pour on the offense with three more runs in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead. Tolliver McMullen blasted a two-run homer in the second, and Nick Hardy added a solo home run to account for the runs in the inning.
The Jaguars scored their next two runs in the third inning thanks to an error by the Trojans and an RBI double from Joseph Presley to take a 6-0 lead.
Madison Central continued to play power baseball in the fourth, as McMullen connected on his second home run of the day for a 7-0 advantage.
Madison Central finished its scoring in game one with seven runs in the sixth inning to roll to the victory. The inning was highlighted by a grand slam home run by Nathan Wright and an RBI single from McMullen.
McMullen finished game one going 5-for-5 at the plate with five RBIs for Madison Central. Jake Sund took the pitching win in game one by going five innings and allowing only two hits in the shutout effort. Jason Pritchett took the loss for Northeast Lauderdale on the mound.

Nathan Wright and Mark Lynn combined for a no-hitter in game two, as the Jaguars completed the sweep over Northeast Lauderdale. Madison Central did most of its damage in the first and second innings on offense to take a 14-0 lead.
In the first inning, Wade Broyles had a two-run double and Bush added a two-run single. In the second inning, Drew Hegi and McMullen each had two-run doubles, while Sean Rader added an RBI double.
The Jaguars notched one run in the third inning on a single by Nathan Hardy to make the score 15-0. Northeast Lauderdale did manage to score one run in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 15-1. Pritchett reached on a walk and later scored on a bases loaded walk to account for the only run for the Trojans.
Madison Central answered with nine runs in the fourth inning to run away with the victory. Jarrod Parks had a grand slam in the inning and Josh Demoney added a two-run double, while Bobby Doggette had an RBI single for the Jaguars.
