QUITMAN Graveside services for Corrie Mae Ross will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Coats officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. McDonald's Funeral Home in Picayune was also in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ross, 97, of Quitman, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, in Picayune. She was born on Dec. 20, 1906, in Yalobusha County. She made her home in Quitman, where she was fondly known as "MaMaw."
Mrs. Ross was a homemaker and at one time part owner of Ross' Cafe. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Frieda Brock and her husband, David, of Picayune and Marguarite Mayo and her husband, Jeff, of Hattiesburg; grandchildren, Jeff Mayo Jr. and his wife, Kathy, Freida Brock Dobson and her husband, John, Beth Mayo Jamison and her husband, Randy, Rhea Brock Roberts and her husband, Johnny, and James Ottis Mayo; seven great-grandchildren; dear friends and caretakers, Bobbie Owens and her husband, Gaines, and Avis Hayes and her husband, Emmett; several nieces, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Ottis Ross; and a daughter, Mary Frances Ross.
Honorary pallbearers will be L.C. Ross, Emmett Hayes, Gaines Owens and Franklin Slay.
Visitation will be today 9 a.m.-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

QUITMAN Services for Vera Mary Cobb will be held today at 3 p.m. at Shady Grove Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Leo Smith officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery in Clarke County. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cobb, 95, of Gautier, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, in her home.
Survivors include her nephews, Gale Mitchell of Quitman, Phillip Mitchell of Ellisville, Larry Mitchell and John Mitchell, both of Gloucester, England; and nieces, Nadine Carmichael of Gautier and Mary Ann Thornton of Moselle.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Nannie Adams Fulce will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Randall Poss officiating. Burial will be in Pinckney Cemetery in Newton County.
Mrs. Fulce, 84, of Ackerman, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at Choctaw County Medical Center in Ackerman.
Survivors include her step-daughter, Geneva Fulce Guess of Ackerman; a brother, Horace Gordon of Hueytown, Ala.; two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin "Jug" Fulce and Garvin Adams.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

YORK, Ala. Services for Retha Hopkins will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dr. Bob Simmons and Patricia Cruz officiating. Burial will be in the York Cemetery.
Mrs. Hopkins, 87, of York, died Sunday, June 6, 2004, at Hill Hospital in York.
Survivors include her sister, Bennie Kidd McElroy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Hopkins; and a daughter, Regina Evelyn Hopkins.
Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Retired Alabama state trooper
HALEYVILLE, Ala. Services for Wallace H. Gordon will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Nichol's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jeff Ingle and Doug Stokes officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Tree Cemetery in Hackleburg. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Gordon, 85, of Porterville, died Sunday, June 6, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in World War II in the Pacific. He attended Harvest Time Church in Kemper County. He retired after more than 24 years as an Alabama state trooper. After he retired, he worked for Nicholson File in Cullman, Ala.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Keeton Gordon of Porterville; children, Jean Riffe and her husband, Ray, of Beaver, W.Va., Gail Fruitger and her husband, John, of Cullman, Lena McRae and her husband, Mike, of Ocala, Fla., Gladys Cook and her husband, A.J., of Meridian, R.G. Keeton Jr. and his wife, Cathye, of Meridian, Jerry Keeton and his wife, Becky, of Porterville and Lynn Burnett and her friend, Peter Dial, of Emelle, Ala.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bennie Durden and her husband, Leroy, Christine Gordon and Helen Parker, all of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice Gordon; a sister, Edith Colquitte; brothers, Russell and Robert L. Gordon; and his parents.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Research Hospital.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home and Wednesday one hour prior to the service at Nichol's Funeral Home in Haleyville.
East Mississippi State Hospital certified nurse's aide
Services for Yolanda Michelle Thomas will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Collinsville with the Rev. John Griggs officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Thomas, 31, of Meridian, died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Riley Hospital.
Survivors include her son, Tyrese Thomas of Meridian; her mother, Mary Thomas; her father, Davis Thomas, both of Collinsville; sisters, Dorothy Spencer of Collinsville and Alxa Thomas of Meridian; and a brother, Michall McClelland of Collinsville.
Visitation will be today 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
FOREST Graveside services for Mattie L. McMillan were held Monday at 3 p.m. at Salem Cemetery with the Revs. Dr. Leon Everett and Harold Laird officiating. Ott and Lee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McMillan, 92, of Forest, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at Mississippi Care Center in Morton.
Survivors include her daughters, Opal Allen of Forest, Bobbie Ogletree of Lake and Agnes McCann Smith of Forest; 24 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. McMillan.
Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Elaine Branning, 79, of Collinsville, who died Monday, June 7, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Arrangements were incomplete at Stephens Funeral Home in Union for Claude Osborne of Union, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.
Arrangements were incomplete at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home for Sholanda Rue, 33, of Lauderdale, who died Monday, June 7, 2004, in her home.
