Ride for life
By Staff
Buddy Boren, of Dallas, Texas, enjoys a shot of "air conditioning" Monday after biking from Demopolis, Ala, to Meridian. Boren is traveling from Savannah, Ga., to Los Angeles to spread the message that cancer can be survived. Boren, a survivor of squamous cell carcinoma, has made two other bicycle trips across the United States. He is heading to Jackson today and expects to arrive in Los Angeles in just over 30 days. After this ride, Boren will have logged more than 12,500 miles on his Trek 7500 bicycle and he says this will be his last trip.
