Oka Homma wins stickball

Oka Homma dethroned Conehatta Gold for the 2004 State Games youth stickball gold medal.
Conehatta Gold, the 2003 gold medalist, did not place this year.
Oka Homma did not place in the 2003 State Games.
Beaver Dam received this year's silver medals after losing to Oka Homma in the championship game of the single-elimination tournament at Ray Stadium.
Bok Cito claimed the bronze medal, while Pearl River took fourth place.
Stickball is the traditional game of the Mississippi Band of Choctaws. The State Games stickball games are for youngsters ages 9-13.
"This is the true sport of the Choctaw people," State Games commissioner Barry Jim Sr. said. "I want to help keep the Choctaw tradition alive and see the sport continue in years to come."
