Drew Moffett has become the latest Meridian Community College baseball player.
The Lamar School product signed earlier this week to play for the Eagles next season.
MCC went to its second straight Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colo., this season. The Eagles lost their first two games of the national championship tournament.
Moffett said he has been a longtime fan of the Eagles, and he is happy to get the chance to help the program continue its winning history.
Moffett pitched and played shortstop at Lamar, and MCC plans to use him as a utility infielder.
As a junior, Moffett hit .460 and led the Raiders in doubles, triples, home runs, RBIs and hits.
Moffett was the team's No. 1 pitcher this season, and he was second on the team in hits. He led the Raiders in runs scored and doubles in his final high school season.
Moffett, who was also the quarterback for Lamar's state championship football team, was named the school's male Senior Athlete of the Year.
He also earned the Raider Award in boys' soccer and the Best Offensive Player award for baseball.
