DEKALB Services for Louise Windham will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Collinsville, with the Rev. Chester Davis Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Windham, 66, of Collinsville, died Monday, June 28, 2004, in her home.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph B. Windham of Collinsville; daughters, Leslie J. Henry and her husband Paul of Waukegan, Ill. and Tina L. Thames and her husband Carl of Collinsville; sisters, Bobbie Adams of Meridian and Janet Lilly of Carbondale, Ill.; sister-in-law Delois Mackins of Chicago; three grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings.
Visitation will be today from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Homemaker
Services for Louise W. Smith will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Stroud Pavilion, with the Rev. Buddy Braddock officiating. Burial be in Stroud Cemetery in Clarke County. Wright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Smith, 78, of Quitman, died Thursday, July 1, 2004, at her home.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharlene Ezell of Quitman; a brother, Robert E. Wilkins and a sister, Velma Wheeler, both of Mobile, Ala.; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Linda Roberts Biers will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Biers, 65, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at River Oaks Hospital. She was an assistant manager at Shoneys in Clinton and a long-time member of the Moose Lodge Jackson Chapter #1179.
Survivors include her son, Scott Bingham and his wife Tonya; a granddaughter, Amelia Brent and a great-granddaughter, Sarah Faye Mason.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Biers and a daughter, Beth Mason.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Retired Kate Griffin Junior High School math teacher
Graveside services for Bess Hall Cook will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Raymon Leake officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cook, 95, of Meridian, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at Riley Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Jane Catherine Carignan of Fresno, Calif., and Ann Brackett of Buford, Ga.; five grandchildren; a sister, Lena Hummel of Meridian and nieces, Mallene Conard of Meridian and Mimi Welch of New Orleans.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred A. Cook, former city councilman for more than 18 years.
Retired nurse and teacher
Services were held recently for Sally Anderson Morgan, 93, of Meridian, who died Monday, March 1, 2004. She was a member of Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, Alpha Delta Kappa, Daisy Chain and Shooting Stars Square Dance Club. She was a teacher of the Meridian Public Schools and a nurse for Dr. William Anderson.
Survivors include her children, Tommy Sue Slade of Umatilla, Fla, Glenda Faye Morgan of Fresno, Calif. and Richard Morgan of Clinton; a brother, Wiley Anderson of El Paso, Texas; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lamar Morgan Sr., a son, Thomas Lamar Morgan Jr. and a grandson, Thomas Lamar Morgan III.
