Services for Alex Cole will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Howell officiating. Burial will be in White Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cole, 87, of Meridian, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Guardian Angel Hospice. He was retired from the U.S. military and served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae Cole of Meridian and several cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Friday 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Gus Hatch Jr. will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Toomsuba.
Mr. Hatch, 64, of Meridian, died Friday, July 23, 2004, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
Survivors include his mother, Adell Naylor of Meridian; a foster-son, Johnny Powell of Meridian; sisters, Shirley A. Williams and Lillie Mae Williams, both of Meridian and Adell Williams of Texas; brothers, D.C. Carlis, Lester Williams, Ray Charles Williams and Howard Williams, all of Meridian, James Thomas McGowan of Enterprise, Willie Frank McGowan, of Detroit and Auther Williams of Fayetteville, N.C.
Visitation will be Friday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services for Paul D. Chisolm Sr. will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Chisolm, of Duluth, Ga., died Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at Gwinnett Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Walterine Chisolm of Duluth, Ga.; a son, Paul D. Chisolm Jr. of Duluth, three grandchildren and a half-sister, Beth Wilson of Amite, La.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services for John Lavelle Goldman were held Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Revs. Dr. Malcom Lewis and Lavelle Woodrick officiating. Barham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Goldman, 74, of Meridian, died Sunday, July 18, 2004, at Riley Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a parts manager throughout the Meridian area. He was a member of Northcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Gayle Young her husband, Charles, of Meridian and Sandi Patterson and her husband, Scott, of Southaven; grandchildren, Brandon Jones of Dallas, Blaine Jones of Hattiesburg, Brooke Patterson of Southaven, Whitney Johnson of Nashville, Ga. and one great-grandson, Jacob Jones of Dallas; a sister, Dorothy Rayner and her husband, George, of Meridian; a brother, Thomas L. Goldman and his wife, Shirley, of Meridian; a brother, Dr. James Goldman Sr. and his wife, Ellen, of Marks; nieces, Donna Hill of Meridian, Lee Joiner and her husband, Carlton, of Atlanta; nephews, Warren Rayner and his wife, Judy, of Mobile, Ala., Sam Goldman and his wife, Mandy, of Meridian and Dr. James Goldman Jr. and his wife, Jean, of Virginia Beach, Va. and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty June Goldman; his parents, James Samuel Goldman and Mattie Goldman.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
Pallbearers were Brandon Jones, Blaine Jones, Scott Patterson, Charles Young, Sam Boswell and Sam Goldman.
MCALLEN, Texas Memorial services for Rene Morgan were held Sunday, July 18, 2004, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pharr with the Rev. John D. Badders Jr. officiating. Kreidler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Morgan, of McAllen, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital. She was born and raised in McAllen, attended McAllen public schools, Hockaday School in Dallas, the University of Texas and received a degree in elementary education from Pan American College. She was active in many civic and social organizations and was an avid tennis player.
Survivors include her husband, Glynn Morgan, formerly of Meridian; her daughter, Tula Morgan; a son, Glynn Morgan Jr. and his wife, Kelly, of Tampa, Fla.; a granddaughter, Laura Jean Hutchins of Boulder, Colo.; a grandson, Glynn Morgan III of Tampa; a sister, Trudie Abbott and her husband, Jim, of McAllen; a step-mother, Jean Riggs Elmore of McAllen; a sister-in-law, Freda Robinson; a brother-in-law, Buddy Morgan and his wife, Treva; nephews, Greg Robinson and his wife, Nan, Randy Robinson and his wife, Cheryl, Steve Robinson and his wife, Penny, and Scott Morgan and his wife, Susie, all of Meridian; nieces, Marisa Corley and her husband, Doug, of Jackson and Faith Hollingsworth and her husband, Mike, of Spring Hill, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Morgan Hutchins; her parents, Bob and Gracie Elmore and her in laws, James T. Morgan Sr. and Lucy Morgan.
