Chad Bounds captures state golf championship at Mississippi State

Chad Bounds improved by 10 strokes from the first day to the final day to win Division C of the Mississippi Golf Association's 2004 Boys State Junior Amateur at the Mississippi State University golf course.
Bounds went from scoring an 83 last Monday to tallying a 73 last Wednesday in the three-day tournament in Starkville. Bounds completed the tournament with an 83-76-73 232.
Easton Key came in fifth in Division C. He completed the tournament with a score of 89-80-87 256.
Reid Kennedy tied for seventh in Division A with two other golfers. He scored a three-day total of 77-73-80 230. Joshua Ivy ended the tournament tied for 20th in Division A, scoring an 80-78-81 239.
Seven area golfers competed in Division B in the statewide tournament.
Jarrod Moulds finished second in the division with a 74-75-73 222. Freddie Janneck won Division B with a three-day score of 73-73-72 218.
Clay Bounds came in fourth in Division B with a 79-76-75 230, and Elliot Tramontana finished tied for sixth notching a 76-81-76 233.
Nicholas Brown rounded out the top 10 finishers from the area, with a three-day score of 78-81-79 238.
John Everett finished 23rd overall in the 46-person Division C field with an 85-85-87 257, and Daniel Fulton scored a 91-83-84 258 to finish 24th. Ryan Jimenez ended the tournament tied for 37th place with a 98-87-91276.
