DEKALB Services for Wilmer C. Daws Jr. will be held today at 3 p.m. at DeKalb Baptist Church with the Revs. James Ruffin and Sam Hull officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Daws, 71, of DeKalb, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, at Mississippi Care Center. He was a graduate of DeKalb High School and Mississippi State University where he was a member of the MSU Foundation and the Bulldog Club. He was a member and deacon at DeKalb Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. He was a longtime businessman in DeKalb where he was a founding member of Kemper Academy. He was on the board of directors for Commercial Bank, and he supported Kemper County Schools. He also was a member of the Mississippi Building Materials Association.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Daws; a daughter, Nancy Daws Kirkland; grandchildren, Heather Elyse Kirkland and Morgan V. Kirkland; sister, Sylvia Daws Russell; a mother-in-law, Ora Hudnall; and a niece and a nephew, all of DeKalb.
Pallbearers will be Will Moseley, Michael Dudley, George Ranager, T.R. Daws, Freddie Harbour, Art Nester, Jimmy Boyd and Jack Harrison.
Honorary pallbearers will be the board of directors of Commercial Bank and members of the MBMDA.
Memorials may be made to Kemper Academy.
Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

NEWTON Services for Belle Brock Williams will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at New Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Rowzee officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Williams, 89, of Hickory, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, in her home.
Survivors include her daughters, Dot Barber and her husband, Pat, of Meridian, and Jan Johnson and her husband, Randy, of Hickory; a son, George Williams and his wife, Dorothy Williams, of Hickory; and a sister, Silas Bailey of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Patricia McCarty and her husband, Randy, of Madison, Julie Bordelon and her husband, Gregg, of Meridian, Dr. Brock Williams and his wife, Carol, of Lubbock, Texas, James Williams and his wife, Karen, Sarah Johnson and Shelly Johnson, all of Hickory; great-grandchildren, Daye McCarty, Gage McCarty, Catherine Bordelon, George Brock Williams III and Wesley Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wesley Williams; her parents, David and Ida Davis Brock; sisters, Mae Hailes, Vivian Whaley and Nora Williams; and two brothers, David Brock and Cecil Brock.
Donations may be made to New Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund.
Pallbearers will be Bill Walker, James Thorne, Elliot Richardson, Lavon Cochran, Wade Wall and Wayne Jones.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Jewel Virginia Bishop will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Russell Wray officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Baptist Church cemetery in Ararat.
Mrs. Bishop, 84, of Staley, N.C., died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, in Staley.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Carver and her husband, Aaron, of Staley, N.C.; a brother, Roy Horn of Mobile; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Visitation will be held today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
