Meridian residents can round up hazardous waste that they've collected during the past few months.
Saturday, between 8 a.m. and noon, is the scheduled time this year for residents to get rid of paint thinners, aerosol cans, antifreeze, used oil, batteries, tires, corrosives and other hazardous waste that cannot be disposed of through ordinary garbage.
Meridian Public Works Director Monty Jackson said last year's Household Hazardous Waste Day was so successful that he is considering holding the event twice a year.
Residents can dispose of the hazardous items at the Public Works Complex at 311 27th Ave. For more information, call the Public Works Department at 485-1970.
