DEKALB Services for Vanie Louise Burns were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Stephens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. James A. Ruffin officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Providence Cemetery in Burns.
Mrs. Burns, 92, of DeKalb, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a member of DeKalb Baptist Church. She was a retired bookkeeper and charter employee of Mississippi Chemical and worked at The Pentagon during World War II.
Survivors include her brother, Hubert Burns and his wife, Anna, of Lancaster, Calif.; nieces, Becky Calvert and her husband, David, and Elizabeth Johnson, both of DeKalb, Patricia Dennis and her husband, David, of Madison and Melody Romeo of Vicksburg and a special great-nephew, Jeb Pittman of DeKalb.
Pallbearers will be David Calvert, David Dennis, Donnie Dennis, Jeb Pittman, Roy VanDevender, Jimmy Spinks and Jim Pittman. Honorary pallbearers will be Parker Stokes, J.L. White, Don Stokes, A.J. Pittman Jr., Bobby McCoy and Wallace Grady.

Graveside services for David Burr Goodman will be held today at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Revs. Mike Dobrowsky and Bill Price officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Goodman, 51, of Meridian, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, in his home. He was a member of Highland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Frances Goodman of Meridian; a son, Matthew Goodman of Meridian; a sister, Donna Gafford and her husband, Alex, of Columbus, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his father, William D. Goodman; maternal grandparents, W.B. and Elizabeth Francis and paternal grandparents, Penn and Iris Goodman.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Troy E. Goodin will be held today at 1 p.m. at First Pentecostal Church at House with the Revs. Barry Fulton and Arrie Fulton officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Goodin, 60, of Philadelphia, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Goodin of Philadelphia; daughters, Beverly Cumberland and her husband, Richard, and Debbie McAdory and her husband, Thomas, all of Philadelphia; son, David Troy Goodin and his wife, Patricia of Philadelphia; step-son, Larry McCullough of Collinsville; a sister, Mary Lynn Farves of Philadelphia; brothers, Clyde Goodin of New Orleans, Clark Goodin and Willard Goodin, both of Noxapater; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Clinton Goodin and Sammy D. Goodin.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Chester B. Herrington will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Gilbert Allan and Curtis Guess officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in the House Community. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Herrington, 77, of the House Community, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Mavis Herrington of House; sons, Jerrell Herrington and Glenn Herrington, both of Union; three grandchildren; four great-grandsons; a sister, Nina Breland of Union; brothers, Garvin Herrington of Philadelphia, C.D. Herrington of Union and Leo Herrington of Decatur.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Ernest Harris will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lively Stone Fellowship Church with the Rev. Ondray Harris officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Toomsuba. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harris, 53, of Meridian, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Norma P. Harris; daughters, Jacqueline Harris and Rhonda Kelly; sons, Jamie Mitchell, Renardo Pruitt and David Lee Turner; his mother, Rosie Smith, all of Meridian; his father, Wonnie Harris Jr., of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters, Jo Ann Durr, Bonnie Rush, Patricia Norman, Perry Smith, Wanda Smith and Evelyn Smith, all of Meridian, Cheryl Harris and Jackie Harris, both of Colorado Springs; brothers, Paul L. Horn of Buffalo, N.Y., Charles R. Smith, Roderick Smith, and Frederick Smith, all of Meridian and Rodney L. Smith of Liberty, N.Y. and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Leonard Moore will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Porterville with the Rev. James Gaines officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Moore, 81, of Porterville, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Grady Moore; daughters, Dianne Moore and Wanda Ford, all of Porterville; sons, Darren Grace, Curtis Grace and Tony Naylor, all of Lauderdale and James White of Porterville; sisters, Florida Delk and Helen Casson, both of Chicago; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home in Newton for Maude Deaton Saxton Fanning, 105, of Newton, who died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at Hilltop Manor of Union.
Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Matthew Griffin, 20, of Meridian, who died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2004, in Meridian.
Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for William H. Pilgrim, of Meridian, who died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at Heartfelt Hospice.
