Services for David Lenard Swearingen Sr. will be held Friday at noon at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Lonnie Byrd, James Messer and Bruce Moseley officiating. Burial will be in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Duffee.
Mr. Swearingen, of Mobile, Ala., died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, in his home. He was a native of Chunky and retired in 2002 as senior vice president at Regions Bank after a more than 45 years in banking. Following his retirement, he served as interim treasurer of the Mobile Baptist Association.
He was an active member of Zion Baptist Church and served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher as well as chairman of numerous committees during his 43 years as a member.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and was active in many civic and sports organizations in Mobile. He was past president of the Loop Lions Club and was honored with The Melvin Jones Award.
Mr. Swearingen graduated from Suqualena High School near Meridian and Memphis State University School of Banking. He held graduate certificates from the American Institute of Banking.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Warren Swearingen; a son, David Swearingen Jr. and his wife, Michelle; a daughter, Angela Jackson and her husband, Donald; grandchildren, Emily Darlene Jackson, William Luke Jackson, Lillian Jane Swearingen and Anne Morgan Swearingen, all of Mobile; sisters, Ruth Gressett of Fairhope, Ala., Mary Harris of Mobile, Martha Swearingen of Meridian and Sarah Sellers of Toomsuba; brothers, Paul Swearingen of Suqualena and James Swearingen of Hickory; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Del Davison, Tim Gressett, Eric Harris, Tommy Taylor, Orvil Skinner, Dane Skinner, Mack Harris and Ted Sellers.
Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Services for Janice L. Sheffield will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian with the Rev. Amos Powell officiating. Burial will be in Gilfield Church Cemetery in Pushmataha, Ala. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Sheffield, 42, of Meridian, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her children, Cedric Sheffield, Chris Sheffield, Ava Sheffield, Charles Sheffield, Kimberly Sheffield and Antonio Sheffield, all of Meridian; three grandchildren; her mother, Mary "Minnie" Sheffield of Meridian; sisters, Eve Sheffield of Meridian and Treasa Ward of West Palm Beach, Fla.; brothers, Bennie Sheffield of Flint, Mich., Charles Sheffield of Las Vegas, Leon Sheffield and his wife, Angie, of Meridian, Leo Sheffield and his wife, Dottie, of Eutaw, Ala.,and Chris Sheffield of Lauderdale; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the chapel in Meridian.
SEBASTOPOL Services for Lamar Bell will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Doby Henry officiating. Burial will be in the Community Cemetery. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bell, 53, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, in his home.
Survivors include his sons, Bryce Bell and Kenneth Bell, both of Standing Pine, Richard Bell of Conehatta, Adrian Bell of Arkansas and Janquin Bell of Philadelphia; daughters, Andrea Anderson of Standing Pine and Althea Bell of Philadelphia; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Earline Jones of Lemoore, Calif.; an aunt, Cecile Wesley; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Rosie Dail Todd will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Needham Assembly of God with the Revs. James Irby and J.C. Moore officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Todd, 90, of Butler, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include her daughters, Patsy Todd Long of Butler, Clara Noggin and her husband, Todd, of Piegmont and Judy Latham and her husband, Todd, of Natchez; sons, Bennie Todd of Marshall, Texas, and Norris Todd of Fayette and Mac Todd of Toxey.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Addie "Little Baby" Clayton will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. Cynthia Cross officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Clayton, 87, of Meridian, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Heartfelt Hospice.
Survivors include her daughter, Andrea Reese of Modesto, Calif.; three grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Roger E. Reese Jr.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
QUITMAN Services for Daniel Antonio McKenzie will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church in Quitman with the Rev. Advail McKenzie officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McKenzie, 36, of Aurora, Colo., died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, in Aurora.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah L. McKenzie of Aurora; sons, Andre C. McKenzie of Slidell, La., and DeKovan A. McKenzie of Aurora; daughters, Destini N. McKenzie and Sereniti R. McKenzie, both of Aurora; parents, Willie L. and Neldia R. McKenzie; brothers, Craig A. McKenzie and his wife, Gail, and Willie Pernell McKenzie and his wife, Somonia; a sister, Kimberly S. McKenzie and his grandmother, all of Quitman; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Spence, 81, of Stonewall, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Green and her husband, Johnnie, of Stonewall; sons, Monroe Dunlap of Evanston, Ill. and Danny Spence of Chattanooga, Tenn. ;and eight grandchildren.
