Services for John T. Hammock will be held today at 1 p.m. at Anderson Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Victor Richardson officiating. L.C. May Funeral Services in Anderson, Ind. is in charge of today's services.
Additional services will be held Saturday at noon at Friendship Baptist Church in Gholson with the Rev. Robert Parks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home are in in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Hammock, 58, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Anderson, Ind. He was born on Aug. 11, 1946, in Gholson. He moved to Anderson in 1968. He retired from Delco-Remy, General Motors Division in 1994. He was a member of Local UAW No. 662. He also worked for various construction companies. He was a member of the Anderson Zion Baptist Church. He was an avid CB radio fan going by the handle of "Big J."
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Mary Hammock; children, Johnnie Hammack and his wife, Jada, of Anderson, Jerry Hammock and his wife, Tisha, of Minneapolis, Shemeka Wesby and her husband, Deonte, of Aurora, Ill.; grandchildren, Albanee' Hammock and Justin Hammock of Minneapolis, Jonathan Miles and Jordan Macie Hammock of Indianapolis; a god-daughter, Katrina Allen Hailey of Georgia; his father, Steven T. Hammock of Gholson; brothers, George Hammock and his wife, R.C., of Anderson, James Hammock and his wife, Dorothy, Lee Vara Hammock and his wife, Martha, and Henry Hammock, all of Gholson; sisters, Dorothy Clay of Gholson and Tammy King and her husband, Wayne, of Shuqualak; a special cousin, Beatrice Rogers-Smith of Chicago; brothers-in-law, Joseph Pollock, Levon Peden, Frank Peden, Waukaye Peden and Johnnie Peden of Chicago; a sister-in-law, Cora Pollock of Anderson; aunts, Susie Chamberlain of Gholson, Pearl Sawyer, Gertie Mathis, Birdie C. Hammock, all of Anderson, Lora Hammock, and Vera Stennis, both of Chicago, Marie Hammock of Rock Island, Ill., Beulah Burrage Dumas of East Chicago and LuEsther Bates of Preston; an uncle, Calvin Hammock of San Diego; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Mae Hammock of Gholson and a brother.
Visitation will be Friday two hours prior to the service at the church.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Ada Mae Thrash will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Lonnie Alexander and Dr. Wayne Hill officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Thrash, 78, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia.
Survivors include her daughter, Jenny McDaniel of Philadelphia; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mavis Dees of Jackson, Willie Jean Wells and Frances Page, both of Philadelphia, and Faye Hoyt of Pearl; brothers, James Wilkerson, Bob Wilkerson and Steve Wilkerson, all of Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Buddy Wilkerson and Otis Wilkerson.
SEBASTOPOL Services for Eula Anderson will be held today at 2 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Anderson, 53, of Conehatta, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at the Mississippi Fire Fighters Burn Center in Greenville.
Survivors include her daughters, Tonya King of Philadelphia, Gina Thompson of Pearl River, Marie King of Minnesota and Matilda King of Conehatta; a son, Manuel Van King of Conehatta; 16 grandchildren; brothers, John Chapman of Conehatta and Jimmy Chapman of Philadelphia; sisters, Mary Thomas of Leake County and Julie Jefferson of Conehatta.
Visitation will be at 521 Mills Road in Conehatta.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Roy Vann Jones Sr. will be held Friday at 9 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jones, 65, of Pennington, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Dora Di Giorgio Jones of Pennington; a son, Roy J. Jones Jr. and his wife, Jean, of Pennington; daughters, Lisa Koen and her husband, Steve, and Vera Lynn Norwood and her husband, Daniel, all of Mobile, Lena Bouillion and her husband, Hann, of Hermitage, Tenn. and Mary Glosson of Nashville; six grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home with rosary at 6 p.m.

UNION Services for Herman G. Gorum will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Neshoba Cemetery.
Mr. Gorum, 77, of Union, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at Serenity Hospice in Philadelphia.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Gorum of Union; a daughter, Linda Julian and her husband, William of Demopolis, Ala.; sons, Lamar Gorum and his wife, Patsy, of Pickensville, Ala., Jerry Gorum and his wife, Elaine, of Bogalusa, La. and Lewis Gorum and his wife, Dawn, of Monticello, Ark.; step-daughters, Sherrye Thompson and her husband, Dan, of Brandon, Dawn Gorum and her husband, Lewis of Monticello and Tammy Smith and her husband, Keith, of Brandon; a half-sister, Bertie Mulky of Florida; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Robert E. Williams will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian with the Rev. Charles Jackson officiating. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Williams, 79, of Meridian, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, in Meridian. He was a veteran.
Survivors include his daughter, Rosalind E. Young and her husband, William M., of St. Albans, Vt.; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
