DEKALB Services for Lucille Rush Cole will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at New Hope Christian Life Center in DeKalb with the Rev. Bennie Pollock officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cole, 86, of DeKalb, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, in her home.
Survivors include her daughters, Essie Ree Brown of Daleville, Mamie Delle Love, Letha C. Bourrage and her husband, Willie, and Catherlean Bohannon and her husband, Sammy, all of DeKalb, Martha Ree Cooley of Flint, Mich.; sons, Roosevelt Cole Jr. and his wife, Jean, Lavell Cole, all of Meridian, Larry Cole and his wife, Viola, of Belzoni, Ezell Cole and his wife, Mary, of Flint; sisters, Juanita Paige of Flint, Mich., Lillie Thomas and Katie Raye Hicks, both of DeKalb, Alice Peebles of Tacoma, Wash., Maggie Spivey, of Chicago, Nevida Jack of Phoenix and Laura Randolph of Davenport, Iowa; brothers, Johnny Westfield of DeKalb; 43 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and eight siblings.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Sunday from noon – 2 p.m. at the church.
Services for Ethel Miller will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Lauderdale with the Rev. Terry Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Pack Cemetery with Clark's Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Miller, 95, of Lauderdale, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, in Gary, Ind.
Survivors include her two sons, Charles Miller and his wife Mildred, and John Miller and his wife, Betty, all of Detroit; her daughter, Tena McElroy and her husband, James, of Gary; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Emma Clayton; her son and two siblings.
Visitation will be Saturday from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
YORK, Ala. Services for Edward Eugene "Gene" Walker will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Walker, 91, of Cuba, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Walker of Cuba; his daughter, Linda Hope of Atlanta; his brother, W.V. Walker of Ephrata, Pa.; two sisters, Lillian Armstrong of York; Minnie Sanders of Montgomery; and one grandson.
Visitation will be 11⁄2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial services for William L. "Billy" Espey will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Tilghman officiating.
Mr. Espey, 59, of Meridian, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, in Meridian.
Survivors include his daughter, Kelda Graham of Meridian; his son, Keith Espey of Hickory; four grandchildren; his sister, Sandra Kenney, and his brother, Bobby Espey, both of Meridian.
