PREP ROUNDUP: Clarkedale pounds out four-inning win over Lake

Clarkdale (19-3, 6-0 District) made short work of Lake on the slow-pitch softball field, picking up an 18-3 win in four innings Thursday night.
Clarkdale outhit Lake 16-6, and the Lady Bulldogs didn't commit an error in the win.
Chassidy Roberts led the Lady Bulldogs' offensive efforts driving in five runs with two triples, and Ashley Bye belted a double and homer to bring home three runs.
Lauren Robinson notched a double and triple with three RBIs, and Whitney Drachenberg, who was the winning pitcher, went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Tessa Gamble and Alyssa Bye each notched a pair of singles, and Savannah Satcher hit a triple.
Clarkdale continues its season with a doubleheader against Wayne County starting at 6 p.m. Thursday at home.

Forest 2
Southeast Lauderdale ran its Division 5-3A mark to 9-2 on the season with a 10-2 road win over Forest on Thursday night.
Mallorie Bowen led the way at the plate for Southeast Lauderdale with three hits and two RBIs. SEL, which is now 16-7 overall, picked up eight hits in the game.
On Tuesday, Southeast took an 8-0 road win over Morton.
The Lady Tigers return to action on Saturday in the Rush/MCC Invitational High School Tournament at the Northeast Softball Complex.
Southeast plays Enterprise at 8:50 a.m., Moss Point at 9:55 a.m., Petal at 1:10 p.m. and Picayune at 2:15 p.m.

Union scored four runs in the first inning and five more in the second in taking an early 11-0 lead in Thursday's Division 6-1A win at Walnut Grove. The Lady Jacket subs added 10 more runs in the top of the fifth.
Tiffany Thomas went 2-for-2 with a homer and two RBIs for Union. Loren Kennedy had two hits and drove in four runs. Megan Lancaster went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs.
Chasity Yates (13-4) got the win as Union improved to 15-4 overall and 7-0 in 6-1A.

Newton 0
Philadelphia blanked Newton in five innings to improve to 12-7 for the season on Thursday.
Shenique Brass hit a double and a home run with two RBIs for Philadelphia, and Tiara Logan went 2-for-2 with a homer and two RBIs.
Shelby Smith went 2-for-2 with one RBI for Philadelphia, and Jillian Sparnecht added a double.
Philadelphia continues the season against Lake on Tuesday.

LAUREL Anna Lauren Fontenot belted a grand slam, a three-run home run and drove in seven runs to lead the Quitman Lady Panthers to victory over the Laurel Lady Golden Tornadoes at the City of Laurel Youth Softball Complex.
Gabby Morgan added two singles and a double, while Constance Jones and Autumn Satcher added doubles. Lindsey Martin, Alison Herring and Sasha Phillips added singles.
