PREP ROUNDUP: Morton tops Choctaw 24-18

Choctaw Central got behind early and couldn't come back to beat Morton on Friday night.
Morton used an early lead to hold on for the 24-18 victory.
Beau Hannah high a 26-yard field for Morton in the first quarter and Courtney Boyd scored on a 16-yard run in the second quarter to give Morton a 10-0 lead at half.
Justin Willis scored on a six-yard run and scored on a 24-yard run to cut in the third quarter. Shay Hodge had a 30-yard touchdown run for Morton in the third quarter.
Morton also scored in the fourth quarter on a three-yard run by Chris Owens. Choctaw Central's final touchdown of the night came on a two-yard run by Geno Mack.

Neshoba Central 20
Pearl used two big quarters to knock off Neshoba Central 44-20 on Friday night.
Pearl scored 23 points in the first quarter to build a big lead.
Jeremy Harvey hit Dycus Bridges on a pair of 10-yard passes to give the Pirates a 15-0 lead.
Harvey connected on a 65-yard pass to Matt Lynch later in the quarter and Pearl picked up the two-point conversion on a pass from Matthew Logue to Rico Jackson to make the score 23-0.
Neshoba Central answered back as Ken Robinson scored on a 23-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and Tyler McNeal hit Jason Yarbrough with a six-yard pass to cut the lead to 23-12 at half.
Pearl answered with 14 points in the third quarter. Phil Wheeler started the scoring with a 45-yard touchdown run.
Neshoba Central answered with a 71-yard run by Robinson to make the score 30-20.
Pearl scored the final 14-points in the game to pick up the victory.
Wheeler scored on a 26-yard run and Jaron Bell scored on a 37-yard run to make the final score 44-20.

Kemper Aca. 11
Kemper Academy dropped another heartbreaking division game on Friday night in DeKalb.
Sylva-Bay scored 15 points in the third quater to pick up a 21-11 win over the homestanding Rams.
The Saints jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and held the 6-0 lead going into half.
Sylva-Bay added two touchdowns in the third quarter. Kemper Academy had a 24-yard field goal in the quarter to trail 21-3.
Blake Mosley scored on a 10-yard run for Kemper Academy in the fourth quarter and Kyle Davis hit Mosley for the two-point conversion to cut the lead to 21-11 but the Rams couldn't complete a comeback.
Craig Watson had eight tackles including a sack for the Rams.
