Southeast Lauderdale ended division play on a high note.
Andrea Wilson, Heather Ward and Martika Ivy each had two hits, Jessica Rose went 3-for-3 and Heather Harper held Choctaw Central batters in check for most of the night as the Lady Tigers doubled up the Lady Warriors 4-2 on Monday night.
Harper scattered Choctaw Central's six hits, two of which came off the bat of Winter Lewis. But after the Lady Warriors' two hits produced an early run in the first inning, Harper never allowed more than one hit in an inning.
Choctaw Central's early one-run lead was the only lead it held the entire game. The Lady Tigers scored two quick runs of their own in the bottom of the first on Rose's two-RBI single, taking a 2-1 lead they never relinquished.
Southeast Lauderdale went up 3-1 in the third on another RBI single by Rose, but the Lady Warriors put another run on the scoreboard in the fourth inning when Lewis' RBI double drove in Stacey Dixon.
Over the last three innings, though, Harper yielded just two hits and never came in danger of allowing another run.
The Lady Tigers added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth, taking a 4-2 lead when Wilson's second single of the night looped into left field and landed landed on the chalk. The hit scored Rose, who reached base with a leadoff single.
Southeast Lauderdale is off for the rest of the week until two non-division games next week. The Lady Tigers host Meridian on Monday and visit Northeast Lauderdale on Oct. 5.
