The Lauderdale County Democratic Party has scheduled a news conference for Monday at 11 a.m. to announce the opening of its John Kerry for President Headquarters.
Plans for a Democratic House Party also will be announced at the news conference, according to Melba B. Clark, chairman of the Lauderdale County Democratic Executive Committee.
The house party is scheduled for Friday, beginning at 7 p.m., at the local John Kerry for President Headquarters, in the Uni-Fam House, 610 Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. State Sen. David Jordan, D-Greenwood, is the scheduled special guest for the event.
Clark said both Monday's news conference and the Democratic House Party are open to the public.
Anyone wanting bumper stickers or yard signs supporting the Democratic ticket of Sen. John Kerry for president and Sen. John Edwards for vice president, can call the local headquarters at 581-1957, or 485-8882.
