Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Wright of York, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Donnie McKenzie of Pennington, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kacie Brooke McKenzie of York, to William Joseph Cassidy Jr. of Remlap, Ala. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Joseph Cassidy Sr. of Remlap.
The wedding will be Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at 2 p.m. at York Baptist Church.
Miss McKenzie is the granddaughter of Dorothy Hardin of Meridian and the late Ramey T. Hardin Jr. of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Thompson of Millers Ferry, Ala., the late Roy McKenzie of LaVaca, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Grover Wright of York.
The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Sumter Academy. She attended the University of West Alabama and is pursuing a degree in elementary education at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
While at UWA, she was a cheerleader, a member of Alpha Sigma Tau sorority and listed on the Dean's List.
Mr. Cassidy is the grandson of Voyed Hollis of Locust Fork, Ala. and the late Marie Hollis, Helen Cassidy of Fultondale, Ala., and the late William Grove Cassidy.
The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Locust Fork High School and received an associate's degree from the University of West Alabama. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in industrial technology at UWA, where he is a member of Delta Chi fraternity.
Mr. Cassidy is employed by Stanley Jones Company in Birmingham.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
