Lamar is one win away from playoffs

The seniors for the Lamar Raiders have a chance on Friday night to do something special.
The players have a chance to make the playoffs four consecutive years. Lamar just needs to win on Friday night to secure its spot in the postseason.
A win at Presbyterian Christian on Friday night would send the defending MPSA Class AAA Division II champions into the postseason.
The Raiders will try to use their depth against a talented but thin Presbyterian Christian bunch.
Lamar will try to contain Presbyterian Christian running back Chase Herring to try to pick up the win.
The Raiders will also try to use momentum from a 58-8 victory over Wayne Academy last Friday night this week.
The Raiders, which are 2-1 in division play, also have a chance to win the South division.
Lamar will need to probably win out to take the number one seed into the playoffs. Madison Ridgeland Academy defeated Hillcrest last week and will challenge Lamar for the first spot.
The Raiders will take on Madison-Ridgeland Academy next Friday night at Grey Cobb Field. Lamar also has a season finale against Hillcrest Christian in Jackson.
In the North division of Class AAA, four teams are battling for two playoff spots. Magnolia Heights, Starkville Academy, Heritage and Oak Hill are fighting for the playoff spots.
