Tommy Wayne Wood

Tommy Wayne Wood, age 59, of Phil Campbell, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2004, at ECM Hospital.
Mr. Wood was a native of Franklin County and former owner of Wood Sales in Russellville. Cancer took over his body about four years ago. He fought it hard with the love of his wife and the desire to see his grandson, Andrew, grow up. He gave his life to the Lord with the help of Brother Jerome Sherrill, whom the family would really like to thank. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his father, Jet Wood, and his mother, Maude Stone Wood; a brother, Gene Wood; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Wood.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 17, 2004, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Marce Pounders officiating. Interment will be in Old Line Cemetery in Hodges.
Mr. Wood is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lola Wood; five sons, Scotty Wood of Phil Campbell, Randy Wood and wife Stefanie, of Russellville, Larry Sandusky and wife Lisa, of Phil Campbell, Charles Sandusky and wife Gwen, of Russellville, and Ricky Sandusky and wife Sandra, of Phil Campbell; three daughters, Phyllis Murphy and husband Wayne, of Russellville, Glenda McGowen of Pace, Florida, and Debra Holland and husband Jon, of Tuscumbia; three brothers, Joe Wood and wife Louise, of Nashville, Max Wood and wife Bonnie, of Nashville, and Bob Wood and wife Ollie, of Scottsboro; two sisters, Mary Fleming and husband Albert, of Franklin, Tennessee, and Dorthy Hester of Red Bay; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.
