Our View – What we learned from the elections

What did we learn from Tuesday's election?
First of all, we learned that Americans can turn out and vote when they care enough to do so. Record numbers of citizens hit the polls, and democracy worked. Thankfully, the election ended without the legal wrangling and months of controversy that plagued the election of 2000. President Bush won re-election, and no matter which candidate you voted for, he's your president for the next four years.
