The 25th anniversary of F.W. Williams House's move to its current location was observed Friday with the celebration of a new roof.
Foundation members met at the historic Meridian home to recognize the city of Meridian and Mississippi Department of Archives and History, which provided a $22,576 certified local government grant toward the project.
Mayor John Robert Smith praised the foundation for its dedication and years of hard work in preserving the home.
The grant has a local match requirement and the foundation is in the midst of an ongoing fund-raiser to secure funds.
In addition to the grant, assistance was provided by Atlas Roofing Corp., which donated building materials, and Nathan E. Daniels Roofing Co., which provided labor.
The Restorations Foundation also announced the launch of the new Web site, www.merrehope.com. Made possible through the Web site designing company Leading Edges LLC, the site will market the foundation's property and activities.
