The Russellville Heritage Preservation Society is offering a free pictorial history of Russellville tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in the City Hall auditorium. Refreshments will be served.
Gerald Jackson, a local historian and employee at Citizen's Bank in Russellville, will present a Power Point presentation of old photos and historical facts about Russellville, and on exhibit will be numerous framed photos of Franklin County from years past as well as an exhibit of artifacts from the old Cedar Creek Furnace from 1818.
Gerald Jackson, son of one of Russellville's early businessmen in downtown Russellville, Jackson Brother's Grocery, has been collecting photos of Russellville for several years. Bishop said Jackson is very knowledgeable about the history of Franklin County, Russellville, its buildings and businesses.
Other photos of Russellville and Franklin County will be on exhibit from Bishop's personal collection. Bishop urged any interested citizen to attend the free event.
