Lillie Pace Brown, age 73, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006.
Mrs. Brown was born in Colbert County. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. View Free Will Baptist Church in Russellville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Mandy Pace; a grandson, Richard Brown; and three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Fike officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers were Daniel Beard, Adam Beard, Mike Pennington, Brock Williams, Clifford Ergle, William Burcham and James Byram.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of 56 years, Eugene Brown; a son, Ricky Brown and wife Pattie, of Russellville; two daughters, Joyce Beard and husband Jerry, of Russellville, and Dianna Brown of Rockford, Illinois; a sister, Martha Porter of Russellville; two grandsons, Daniel Beard and wife Amy, of Russellville, and Adam Beard and wife Julie, of Russellville; a great-granddaughter, Gracie Beard of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.

John &#8220J.C.” Hall, age 86, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2006.
Mr. Hall was born October 27, 1919, in Phil Campbell to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hall. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Hall married Jean Elliott on March 17, 1942, in Brownwood. He was a lifelong resident of Brownwood and worked as a mechanic for the Texas State Highway Department for 30 years until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Hall is preceded in death by his brother, Ulus Hall; two sisters, Verdie Hall Whitehead and Vera James; and a grandson, Jay Pittman.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Wells officiating. Interment was at the Eastlawn Cemetery in Early, Texas.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Jean Hall; a daughter, Sandy Lockett and husband Kenneth, of Brownwood; eight brothers, Fred Hall, Ed Hall, Grady Hall, William Hall, Bob Hall, Pete Hall, David Hall and Paul Hall; three grandchildren, Dayna Hernandez and husband Fred, of San Angelo, Barton Paige Pittman of Zephyr, and Jennifer Tipton and husband Terrell, of Coppell; and six great-grandchildren, Jaci and Kayli Pittman of Abilene, Haley and Andie Sue Hernandez of San Angelo, and Madelyn and Megan Pittman of Zephyr.

Lillian Austelle Smith, age 91, of Russellville, passed away Friday, March 10, 2006, at ECM Hospital in Florence.
Mrs. Smith lived all her life in Franklin County and was a member of Eastside Church of Christ. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dearly loved her family. Her beautiful smile and kind words brought joy to everyone around her. She always put everyone's happiness before her own. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Smith; and her parents, Thurlo and Eva Hester.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Johnny Richardson officiating. Interment was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Hellums, Marlin Landers, Danny Gist, Billy Lee Tompkins, Gerald Smith, Rickey Smith, Joel Tompkins, Bret Gist and Jason Gist. Honorary bearers were Jeff Harbin, Aaron Harbin, Josh Harbin, David Smith and Ken Carson.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Peggy Crews and husband Billy, and Linda Gail Ergle and husband James; and two sisters, Mildred Smith and Gladys Hellums and husband Kenneth, all of Russellville; four grandchildren, Donna Mitchell and husband Willard, Sherry Holt and husband Dustin, Derek Ergle and special friend Kim Hester, and Shane Ergle and special friend Cassie Wisdom; four great-grandchildren, Kristen Mitchell, Ryan Mitchell, Wesley Holt and Sydney Holt; and several nieces and nephews.
The family extends a special thanks to the physicians and nursing staff on the first floor of ECM Hospital for making their stay as comfortable as possible. May God bless you.
