Two Russellville men were victims of a home invasion Tuesday morning.
Two white males and one female entered the home of two Hispanic males at the Fleming Trailer Park in Russellville. The trio attempted to rob the home but the two men fought back, Police Chief Chris Hargett said.
The victims suffered multiple injuries, including an orbital fracture and facial injuries. One victim was flown to Huntsville Hospital and the other was transported to Tupelo, Miss. The victims' names were not released.
The trio was armed with a tire tool or another similar instrument used in their attempt to conduct the robbery.
The assailants fled before police were notified and authorities are looking for a dark colored vehicle with a broken back window, Hargett said.
This is the second home invasion case within the past week. Josh Todd Tunell, 28, was arrested in West Memphis, Ark. last Friday and has been charged with attempted murder first, Burglary first, and Theft of Property first. Tunell is in the Franklin County jail. Bond has been set at $750,000. Tunell had not made bond, Hargett added.
Pauline White, the 77-year-old victim of last week's home invasion, has been upgraded to good condition at the Northeast Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
