Sammy Gerald Motes, age 48, of Nashville, TN, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
Mr. Motes was born on November 14, 1958. He was preceded in death by his father, Hollis George Motes; a brother, Alvin DeAngelo Motes; his grandparents, George and Loanie Mae Motes and Zackie and Lorene Winsted; and a nephew, Jimmie Lynn Miller.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2006, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jeff Whitten officiating. Interment was in Spruce Pine Cemetery.
Mr. Motes is survived by his mother, Floette Ann (Winsted) Motes; his girlfriend, Betty Hallmark; a son, Aaron Motes and wife Stephanie; two daughters, Jeannie Williams and husband Shannon, and Sunshine Motes Winstead; two sisters, Sheila Newell and Lisa Jackson; four brothers, Joey Motes, Gary Motes, Roy Motes and Randy Motes; twelve grandchildren; two brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and several nieces and nephews.
Spry Chapel assisted the family.
