Late FTs lift Lady Tigers

Chelsey McWilliams scored 33 points and made the go-ahead free throws with less than a minute remaining on Thursday afternoon as Red Bay's girls edged East Lawrence 56-55 in the Northwest Alabama Christmas Tournament at Lauderdale County High School.
The Lady Tigers (10-6) trailed by one before McWilliams made a pair of free throws with 53 seconds left to put them on top for good. Red Bay survived a pair of late shot attempts by East Lawrence and advanced to play again on Thursday night.
McWilliams was 12-for-15 from the field against East Lawrence and 9-for-11 from the foul line. Brittany Scott added 11 points for Red Bay, going 9-for-10 from the line.
The Lady Tigers made 25-of-35 free throw attempts for the game.

Chelsey McWilliams had 18 points and Morgan Duncan added 12 on Tuesday as Red Bay won its opening round game.
The Lady Tigers led by six at the half before Alabama Christian out-scored them 13-8 in the third quarter to trim the lead to one.
Red Bay responded by out-scoring Alabama Christian 19-14 in the fourth quarter to hold on.
Brittany Scott and Kirstin Sharp each finished with seven points for the Lady Tigers, and Britan Bolding had six.
Carlie Ainsworth led Alabama Christian with 24 points.
Wayne County (TN) 65 Red Bay 33
Red Bay dropped into the loser's bracket with Wednesday's loss to Wayne County.
Chelsey McWilliams led the Lady Tigers with 15 points, and Ashley Hardin added eight.
