Tigers sweep Tremont, improve to 5-1

Red Bay continued its strong start to the 2007 season on Monday, sweeping a doubleheader at Tremont (MS) to improve to 5-1.
The Tigers won the opener 6-2 behind a solid outing on the mound by Stephen Prestage, who allowed just two hits and struck out five in a five-inning complete game.
Red Bay took control early with a four-run first inning, highlighted by Cody Armstrong's two-run single. Prestage capped the big inning with an RBI double.
Nicholas Taylor and Dillon Massey each had an RBI single in the third as Red Bay opened up a 6-1 lead.
Armstrong finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs.
The Tigers completed the sweep with a 7-4 win in game two. Derrick Miller went 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, and Andy Thorn added two hits and two RBIs.
Massey was the winning pitcher, allowing four runs on five hits in three innings. He struck out three.
Red Bay broke a 4-4 tie with a run in the top of the fourth and then added two more in the fifth. Nathan Hopkins earned the save with two scoreless innings of relief.

Red Bay broke a 3-3 tie with a run in the top of the seventh, but Belmont answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning to earn the win.
Cody Armstrong started for the Tigers and got a no-decision, allowing three runs on one hit in five innings while striking out eight.
Ely Cox had a two-run double in a three-run first inning for Red Bay, but Belmont battled back to tie the game with a run in the second and two more in the fifth.
Derrick Miller had two hits and an RBI for the Tigers, and Stephen Prestage added a double. Morgan Stanfield was 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run, and Armstrong, Brandon Brown and Nathan Hopkins each had one hit.

Nicholas Taylor struck out four and did not allow a hit in Saturday's win.
Nathan Hopkins went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and Matthew Patterson added a three-run double.
