Richard Earl Draddy, age 71, of Vina, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Helen Keller Hospital.
Mr. Draddy was born January 7, 1936, in Charlotte, NC to Thomas J. and Elsie Dane Mitchell Draddy. He was employed with the airlines and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Strickland Draddy; two daughters, Sherry Ann McCarthy and husband Steve, of Red Bay, and Teresa Joy Weatherly and husband Greg, of Olive Branch, MS; one sister, Alice Sloop of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Steve Draddy of Charlotte, NC; and four grandsons, Clay McCarthy, Nikolas McCarthy, Kegan McCarthy and Dustin McCarthy.
Lizzie George Elrod

Lizzie George Elrod, age 93, of Red Bay, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Care Center of Red Bay.
Mrs. Elrod was born January 9, 1914, in Piney Bend to Vester M. and Carrie Ezzell Mitchell. She lived her entire life in Franklin County and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Philo George and Foss Elrod; a sister, Mary Campbell; two brothers, Raymond "Jim" Mitchell and Amos Mitchell; and her parents.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2007, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roger Wood officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Site Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harold Strickland, Gary Liles, Jimmy Mitchell, Doug Liles, Edwin Mitchell and John Holmes.
Mrs. Elrod is survived by a son, Hoyt George and wife Sandra, of Red Bay; a granddaughter, Laryessa Holmes and husband John Holmes IV, of Chattanooga, TN; a great-grandson, Ian Holmes of Chattanooga, TN; three sisters, Icie Liles and Pauline Strickland, both of Red Bay, and Eula Jean Puckett of Maud, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
Orbie R. Harris

Orbie Rayburn Harris, age 85, of Phil Campbell, passed away Friday, March 9, 2007, at his residence.
Mr. Harris was a member of Union Hill Methodist Church. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Syvola Elaine Weeks Harris; a son, Gerald Rayburn (Cotton) Harris; his parents, William Riley Harris and Effie Eula Morgan Harris; a brother, Raymond Harris; and a sister, Bermie Harris.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Union Hill Methodist Church with Bro. Coy Morgan and Bro. Danny Hammett officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Drew Harris, Griffin Harris, Cameron Harris, Tyler Harris, Corey Crittenden, Kade Qxendine, Terry Zills and Chris Speck. Honorary bearers will be Ervin (Fat) Morgan, Buel Morgan and Johnny Pierce.
Mr. Harris is survived by two sons, Gary Harris and wife Jill and Ronald Harris and wife Tina, both of Spruce Pine; a daughter, Sandra Crittenden and husband Hobart, of Phil Campbell; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and twelve nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Southern Care Hospice, Ruby Sheffield, Stacy Smith, Leigh Pinkard, Mark Daniel, Lisa Grossliem, Charlotte Hines, Mindy Crittenden; Dr. Randy Pounders, Bro. Coy Morgan, Bro. Danny Hammett, Fat, Aunt Nola, and all family and friends for their visits and sustaining prayers.

June Allison Smith, age 40, of Hodges, passed away Monday, March 5, 2007, at her residence.
Mrs. Smith was born April 4, 1966, in Walnut, MS to Donald and Shirley Gentry Doyle. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. David Kelley officiating. Interment was in Halltown Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bobby Doyle, Glen Graham, Hershel Graham and Gary Graham.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her mother, Shirley Doyle of Red Bay; her step-father, Ronnie Booker of Red Bay; two daughters, Shirley Ann Smith of Russellville and Mary Ann Farmer of Red Bay; one brother, Bobby Doyle of Littleville; two aunts, Christine Shaneyfelt of Red Bay, and Ruth Feathers and husband Herbert, of Memphis, TN; a cousin, Reta Lynn Feathers of Memphis, TN; and an uncle, Melvin Gentry of Birmingham.
Deaton Funeral Home assisted the family.
