Tharptown girls sweep R.A. Hubbard

Jess Myrick hit a pair of home runs and Hollie Hines had six hits on Monday as Tharptown cruised to a doubleheader sweep of R.A. Hubbard in varsity softball action.
The Lady Wildcats (8-5, 4-1 Class 1A, Area 15) won the first game 15-0 and then routed the Lady Chiefs 16-3 in game two.
Myrick homered in each game, and Hines had a home run and a triple among her six hits. Laken Barnett had three hits in game one.
The Lady Wildcats will have a chance to avenge their only area loss to date when they host Athens Bible on Thursday at East Side Park.

Whitney Sharp and Katie Fowler each had two hits to lead Red Bay in the opener of Monday's doubleheader.
Allison Morrow pitched six innings to earn the win.
Kristen Claunch got the win for Colbert Heights in game two. Kirstin Sharp and Brittany Scott each had two hits for Red Bay.
