Hibbett Sports is proud to announce the selection of Ally Willis of Russellville as a Hibbett Sports Superstar.
Ally, age 9, was chosen for her high academic achievements and her athletic accomplishments. Ally was one of thirty-six superstars that were chosen out of over 2,500 nominations.
Fourth grader Ally is an A Honor Roll student, a member of the gifted program, and attends Calvary Baptist Church, where she serves on the children's choir and drama teams. She has played basketball for three years and softball for two, making All-Stars for the second consecutive year.
As part of the Hibbett Sports Superstars program, Hibbett Sports and their participating sponsors, Nike, Under Armour, and adidas, chose and present donations to a charity or organization in each Superstar's community. In honor of Ally's accomplishments, Hibbett Sports and Under Armour will donate $1,000 to the Faith Mission Outreach.
The Hibbett Sports Superstars Program gives local communities the opportunity to nominate one of their own young people to be featured in Hibbett Sports catalogs, which are mailed to over 800,000 homes in 23 states.
According to Hibbett Sports Vice President-Marketing, Joy McCord, Hibbett Sports Superstars are more than just good athletes.
"The kids we choose as Hibbett Sports Superstars go the extra mile," she said. "They're good students, hard workers who get involved in the schools, their churches and their communities. They're superstars off the field as well as on."
Hibbett Sports will honor Ally on Saturday March 31, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Russellville Hibbett Sports location.
