Phil Campbell relentless in win over Red Bay

PHIL CAMPBELL – In a rematch of the Franklin County Tournament Championship game, the Phil Campbell Bobcats once again showed the Red Bay Tigers no mercy as they shut them out 7-0.
Phil Campbell struck first in the first inning when a hit by Erica Halcomb drove in Shayla Pace to Caitlin Stancil in to bring the Bobcats ahead 1-0.
A double by Shelly Cooper drove in Shayla Pace, and a single by Hannah Nix drove in Shelly Cooper to lead the Bobcats ahead by 3.
The bats were silent for both teams until the third inning when Melissa Russell came up to the bat with bases loaded. Her homerun drove in Chasity Morgan, Hannah Nix, and Carrie Fell to bring the score to 7-0, where it would stay for the rest of the game.
Melissa Russell was the winning pitcher for the Bobcats.
