Sylvester Leo Willingham

Sylvester Leo Willingham of Cherokee died Thursday, May 31, 2007. He was 69 years old. The service will be held today, June 3, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Morrison Funeral Home in Cherokee.
Grady Parrish will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Van Willingham, Brad Stanfield, Nick Black, Kenneth Stanfield, Jim Mitchell, and Jeff Willingham. Interment will follow in Mountain Springs Cemetery.
He was a native of Franklin County.
Mr. Willingham was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Willingham, parents Oran and Beulah Willingham, brothers William Edward and Nelson Willingham, and sisters Madrue Mitchell and Willard Smelser.
He is survived by one brother, Floyd Willingham of Russellville, and three sisters- Lillian Guthrie of Dora, Linece Dean of North Royalton, Ohio, and Vernial Lou Bragwell of Tuscumbia, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Morrison Funeral Home assisted the family.
Bernice Orrick

Bernice Orrick, of Vina, died Friday, May 25, 2007 at her residence. She was 73 years old. The service was held Sunday, May 27 at 3:30 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay. Bro. Steve Ledbetter and Bro. Paul Reynolds officiated.
Pall bearers were Shaun Rogers, Nathan Bohannon, Kirk Childers, Brad Childers, Ronald Stroupe and Tim Childers.
Interment followed at Ridge Cemetery.
She was born on September 13, 1933 in Mississippi to Vernon and Gladys Ridge Pickett.
She was a nurse for 26 years and a member of First Baptist Church in Vina. She was preceded in death by one grandson- Michael Childers, her first husband- Willie Childers, a brother- Raymond "Peewee" Pickett, and her parents.
She is survived by her husband- Pug Orrick of Vina, three sons- Joe Childers and Dennis Childers and wife Geral, all of Golden, Keith Childers and wife Anita of Florence; one daughter- Joy Childers of Vina; six grandchildren- Dawn Rogers and husband Shaun of Tremont, Amber Bohannon and husband Nathan and Kayla Bridges, all of Vina, Brad Childers, Kirk Childers, and Katy Childers, all of Florence; four great-grandchildren Kailee Rogers and Konnor Rogers both of Tremont, Kaleb Christman of Florence, and Kenzlee Bohannon of Vina; as well as one sister-in-law, Nell Pickett of Red Bay.
Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay assisted the family.
