State relaxes fireworks ban
By Staff
Thanks to recent rain showers, the state Alabama Forestry Commission has relaxed a statewide ban on shooting fireworks this July 4.
Previously, a ban was placed on the lighting of all fireworks and fireworks displays. However, that ban has since been amended.
Now, only "rocket-type" fireworks are banned, clearing the way for some Freedom festivities this Wednesday.
Currently, only the "discharge of any type of sky rockets with sticks or any rockets or missiles with fins or rudders" is banned.
