Wimberley benefit bass tournament
September 8
BEAR CREEK – An open bass tournament to benefit Keagen Rose Wimberley, who was born with a bone birth defect, wlll be held Saturday, Sept. 8 at Twin Forks Ramp on Upper Bear Lakes from safe light until 3 p.m. Prizes will be given out for first ($1500) through fourth place. Founder's Fest 5K, 1-Mile Run/Walk

RED BAY – The annual Red Bay Founder's Fest 5K and 1-Mile is Saturday, Sept. 15. The 5K runs begins at 9 a.m. and the 1-mile run/walk starts at 9:45 a.m. The race is sponsored by Red Bay Wellcare, and the top three finishers in each division will receive an award. UNA basketball skills camp
September 15
FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama basketball program is hosting a skills camp on Saturday, September 15 from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at UNA's Flowers Hall and the Student Recreation Center. Fundamentals will be taught by head men's basketball coach Bobby Champagne and head women's basketball coach Terry Fowler and their players for boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grade. Pre-registration ost is $30, or $40 the day of the clinic. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt, lunch and free admission to the UNA volleyball game. For more information, visit
Winfield horseshoe tournament

WINFIELD – The Winfield Park and Recreation Department's Horseshoe Tournament is Saturday, Sept. 22 at 8:15 a.m. at Ivan K. Hill Park. PC Booster Club meeting
September 17
PHIL CAMPBELL – The Phil Campbell Bobcat Athletic Booster Club will hold its next meeting Monday, September 17 at 6:30 p.m. in at the Phil Campbell Rescue Squad building. We encourage all parents to become members of the club, which is striving to assist the student-athletes in all sports. Membership fees are $10 per person.
Travel baseball team sign-ups
Baseball players are needed for a new 9-and-under travel team for this fall. The team will also play next spring and summer. If interested, contact Greg Pierce at 460-1018.
