Jewel Bruton

Jewel Thaxton (J.T.) Bruton died Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Princeton Baptist Hospital in Birmingham. He was born on January 19, 1920, and has worked as a crane operator and a farmer for many years. He was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church, and a member of Franklin County Cattlemen's Association for over 40 years.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 5, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Bro. Stanley Hargett and Bro. Chip Martin officiating. Burial was in the Tharptown Cemetery.
He is survived by wife, Lucy Arlene Bruton of Russellville; sons, Charles Bruton and wife, Darlene, of Michigan, and Ronald Bruton of Florida; step-daughter, Margrew and Billy Byrd of Florence; grandsons, Charles Jr. and Karen Bruton, Chad and Rhonda Bruton, Corbie and Jana Bruton, all of Michigan; three great-grandchildren; step-granddaughter, Sheree and Rick Hansard of Ill.; two step-great-grandchildren; sister, Ezmah Portwood of Auburn; niece, Georgia Lou Aycock of Auburn; and nephew, Orland Britnell of Russellville.
He was preceded in by his father and mother, Will and Lou Ellen Bruton; sister, Methyl Britnell; nephews, Lowell Britnell and Gailen Portwood.
Pallbearers were be Charles Bruton Jr.. Corbie Bruton, Jamie Harris, Scott Seal, and Chris Hargett.

A.C. Densmore
November 2, 2007
A.C. Densmore, age 81, of Haleyville died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at his home. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, a member of Lawler Chapel Baptist Church of Hackleburg, and was a member of the Double Springs American Legion.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Bruce Pope and Terry Duncan officiating. Burial was in the Winston Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, June Miller Densmore; son, Jerry Densmore, and wife, Jane, of Haleyville; sisters, Thelma Ivey of Double Springs, and Hazel Rowe of Phil Campbell; granddaughters, Denica Millwood and Mary Jane Densmore; and great-grandchildren, Katie Millwood, Hunter Millwood, Harley June Brown, Jerry David Brown, and Marion Ray Densmore.
He was preceded in death by parents, Cleveland and Rachel Densmore, and five brothers, Harvey, Hezz, Troy, Roy, and Jack Densmore.

Buford Mobley

Buford Jackson "Pete" Mobley, age 81, of Haleyville died November 3, 2007 at Lakeland Community Hospital. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Funeral services were held November 6, 2007 at the Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Glenn Posey officiating. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery in Natural Bridge, Ala.
He is survived by his brothers, Charles Mobley and wife, Rosa Lee, of Haleyville, and Lewis Mobley and wife, Mary, of Birmingham; sister, Hazel Willingham of Natural Bridge; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by parents, William Cora Mobley and brother, Kenneth Hubert Mobley.

Grady Barton
Oct. 29, 2007
Grady Barton died October 29, 2007 at Valley View Nursing and Rehab in Madison, Ala. He was a native of Tennessee, and served in the United States Army during WWII.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 2, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Grady Carl Barton officiating. Burial was in the Ashbank Cemetery in Nauvoo, Ala.
He is survived by children, Grady Carl Barton of Florida, Earl Barton of Michigan, and Rayburn Barton of Michigan; brother, J. C. Barton of Mobile, Ala.; sister, Betty Ruth Trotter of Nauvoo; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by wife, Era Barton; parents, Golden and Amana Barton, and siblings, Verlie, Leon, Iva Mae, Ruby and Odis Barton.

Stevie Ray Morrow, age 50, of Phil Campbell died Saturday, November 3, 2007.
Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007. Funeral services will be held at the Spry Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007 with Rev. Jeff Whitten officiating the service. Burial will be in the Mountain Home Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Carlile, Rocky Riddle, Robbie Rea, Royce Riddle, Steve Rapper, Brian Riddle and Mark Benefield.
He is survived by wife, Dorothy Morrow; children, Stephen and Claudia Comstra of Texas, Robin and David Richardson of Florida, Stacey and Paul Carlile Sr. of Ohio, and Angel Morrow; grandchildren, Joseph Comstra, whom he raised, Danny Richardson, Dale Richardson, Heather Comstra, Shawn Comstra, Jessica Comstra, and Emily Comstra; brothers, Carl Vernon, Brian Riddle, Royce Riddle, Rocky Riddle, Mike Riddle, and Quinton Riddle; six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Josie May Sutton Borden, age 71, of Russellville, died Friday, November 2, 2007.
Funeral services were held on Monday, November 5, 2007 at the Spry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ricky Gardner officiating the service. Burial was in the Dempsey Cemetery.
She is survived by daughter, Shelia Cook; grandchildren, Shandi Gardner, Chelsey Gardner, and D.J. Kimbrough; great-grandchildren, Hanna Darrocott, Alisha Darrocott, and Olivia Darrocott; special friends, Johnny Borden and Amy Myers; brothers and sisters, Floyd Parrish, Foy Parrish, Curtis Parrish, Jimmy Parrish,, Betty Mims, and families; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Daniel Sutton; daughter, Delilah Sutton; son, Danny Sutton; second husband, William Borden; parents, Thomas and Irene Parrish; brothers, Jr. Parrish, Jimmy Parrish, Audrey Parrish, Odel Parrish, Elbert Parrish, and Theo Parrish; sisters, Myrtle Parrish and Lorene Parrish; and special friend, J.D. Magarrity.

Grace Vernell Entrekin Scott, age 85, of Russellville, died Monday, November 5, 2007 at Russellville Health Care.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Hodges. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
She is survived by sons, Roger Scott and wife, Theresa, of Hodges, and Max Scott and wife, Lee, of Trussville; grandchildren, Crystal Scott, Jared Scott and Lee Anne Scott; brothers, Walter Entrekin and Billy Entrekin; sisters. Opal Rickard and Artense Hester; three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by husband, Archie Scott; parents, Harvey and Maggie Potter Entrekin; children, Doris Crawford and Louis Scott; sisters, Irene Hargett and Pearl Bragwell.
She was a member of Quinn Memorial Church of Christ.
