Duane Scott Thornton, 42, of Russellville, passed away Dec. 13 at his home.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel Dec. 16. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at Spry. Bro. Jim Lumpkin will officiate and burial will follow in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Aycock, Dylan Pounders, Jimmy Thornton, Andy Thornton, Mickey Allison, Darby Allison, Matthew Smith and Jerry McGee. Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Allison, Andrew Thornton, Tye Daily, Trent Daily and Justin Thornton.
He is survived by his parents, Tom and Shirley Thornton; sister, Melanie King and husband, Robert; nephews, Brandon Aycock and Dylan Pounders.
He was preceded in death by brother, Kevin David Thornton and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Thornton, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Jones, Sr.
Gladys Bartlett Kimbrough

Gladys Bartlett Kimbrough, age 89, of Russellville, died Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Terrace Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Kimbrough was a native of Colbert County but lived in Russellville for the past 54 years. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with burial in the Glenn Dale Cemetery in Tuscumbia. Phil Kimbrough will officiate the service. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Survivors include husband, Howard Kimbrough of Russellville; sons, Bennie Kimbrough and wife, Sue, of Moulton, Kenneth Kimbrough and wife, Sandra, of Phil Campbell; daughters, Doris Prince and husband, Joe, of Russellville, Judy Pounders, and husband, Troy, of Moulton; daughter-in-law, Doris Kimbrough of Russellville; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Ben and Terry Bartlett; son, Edwin Kimbrough; sister, Effie Kiser.
Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.
Charles Edwin Crane, Sr.

Charles Edwin Crane, Sr., age60, of Red Bay, died December 9, 2007 at the Care Center of Aberdeen in Aberdeen, Miss. He was born June 16, 1947 in Kenosha, Wi, to Merle and Caroline Ralph Crane, Sr. He was a carpenter and worked at Sunshine Homes for 15 years. He was a member of Cornerstone Church of God in Red Bay.
Funeral services were held December 13, 2007 at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay with Bro. Jerry Glenn officiating the service. Burial was in the Red Bay City Cemetery.
Survivors include wife of 42 years, Annette Grimes Crane of Red Bay; son, Charles Crane Jr, and wife, Amanda, of Lebanon, Ky.; daughters, Tracey Stark and husband, Mike, of Silver Lake, Wi. and Stacey Brown and husband, Gerald, of Fulton, Miss,; mother, Caroline Crane of Red Bay; brothers, Merle Crane Jr. and wife, Valerie, of Coloma, Wi., Robert Crane and wife, Tammy, and Steve Crane and wife, Kathy, all of Kenosha; and nine grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers for the service.
Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay assisted the family.
Marjorie H. Thorn

Marjorie "Margie" Halcomb Thorn, age 75, of Red Bay, died December 12, 2007 at her residence. She was a devoted wife and mother who put her Lord and her family as her focus in her life.
Funeral services were held Burnout Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 with Bro. Dan Hindman and Bro. Jim Gables officiating the service. Burial as in the Burnout Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Jonathon Thorn, Taylor Ashe, Andrew Ashe, Murray Morrow, Tyler Morrow, Austin Morrow and Jason Heym.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Paul Thorn; sons, Ronald Thorn and wife, Karen, of Red Bay, David Thorn, and wife, Ann, of Birmingham, Donald A. Thorn and wife, Dawn, of Red Bay, Mike Thorn and wife, Jill, of Sumrall, Miss.; daughter, Shewana Ashe and husband, Jeff, of Pontotoc, Miss; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Mary Nell Oliver of Centre, Al.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Ruth Halcomb, and brother, James A. Halcomb.
Wilburn Gray
December 14, 2007
Wilburn Gray, 70, of Russellville, passed away Dec. 14 of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. Carl Gaston and Bro. Harold Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Survivors include sister-in0law, Marlene Gray, of Russellville; very special and close nephews, Matthew Murray and Dustin Murray and young people he spent special time with, Phillip Edwards and Trent "Tadpole" Markem and also several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Gertrude Gray and brother, Junior Gray.
Pallbearers will include the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. Honorary bearers will include, David Murray, Rickey Joe Murray, Mark Murray, Michael Murray and Christopher Murray.
He was employed as a sergeant in the Franklin County Sheriff's Department for more than 20 years. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in the Mountain Star Community.
He retired from the force March 1, 2001. He was also known in the Franklin County area as No. 806.
He loved being a part of the Franklin County Sheriff's Department and was very proud of being a deputy. The family extends a special thanks to the sheriff's department for all their love and support.
